MTFX and Confetti Creations help Cadbury go with a bang!

We were asked by Cadbury, Official Treat Provider to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to provide the confetti at the launch of its Spots v Stripes initiative, which aims to get millions of people from all walks of life rediscovering the spirit of playing games.

MTFX Rocks Manchester for Children in Need

MTFX was excited to be involved in the recent Children In Need Rocks concert at the MEN Arena in Manchester.

A confetti effect using stadium shots was provided for The Collective, a falling snow effect was created for Gary Barlow and Master Blasters were supplied and operated in order to achieve the confetti effect for the Coldplay Viva La Vida performance.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a special event.

Federer Wins Final – ATP World Tour 2011

MTFX/Confetti Creations was at the gripping final between Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the O2 in London. The title was won by Federer who upon receiving the trophy was showered in a spectacular display of blue and white confetti. This amazing display was achieved using Stadium Shots.

MTFX looks towards a greener future

Given the rising costs of energy over the recent years we decided it was time to look for a more sustainable and cost effective source of electricity. At the end of 2010 we installed a photo voltaic solar system at our head office in Gloucestershire. The 8.5kw system comprises 46 panels and helps to power the office and main workshop with any excess energy produced being returned to the grid.

It has proved so successful that we are now looking to add further solar systems to our storage warehouses – let’s hope the sun keeps shining!

MTFX: the official providers of confetti for the Royal Wedding

MTFX was very proud to be the only official provider of confetti for the Royal Wedding on 29 April. Eighteen of our large master blasters were strategically positioned in Trafalgar Square and Hyde Park to cover the crowds gathered with a mixture of red, white and blue confetti as the happy couple left Westminster Abbey to start their journey to Buckingham Palace. It was wonderful to be a part of such a special day!

MTFX in Doha

In December 2010, Doha celebrated reaching a production capacity of 77 million tonnes per annum of liquid natural gas. MTFX was asked to provide the special effects for celebration this achievement.

This comprised:

• Circular projection water screen which would appear as a lift appeared of the water and raise to 10 metres
• Air explosions under the water to simulate a core drill hitting the water’s surface
• 3 different size bubble effects, to simulate anything from a fine effervescing to a bubbling cauldron
• Circulation and filtration of 1,600,000 million litres of water using a number of sand filters
• Heating of the water to 26C using 4 off 63 amp 3 phase heaters – 432KWs of heat!!

MTFX is pleased to announce that it has recently purchased the confetti company 'Colourful Cascades'. It means our confetti division, Confetti Creations, is now able to provide an even greater range of shapes for table and throwing confetti which can be custom cut in the colour of your choice. MTFX provides spectacular end to a major retailer's end of year conference

Wales v New Zealand rugby 2010

We were delighted to be asked to provide special effects for the Wales vs New Zealand rugby match at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Our special effects solution contained 12 of our Firedance heads and 5 of our new 5 way flames!

Smirnoff Paintfest!

Smirnoff recently booked MTFX to come up with a system to safely fire jets of paint at a group of dancers on an open air dance floor on Tower Bridge in London as part of a recent publicity stunt.

The group of 40 dancers arrived and were dressed up in white overalls and were all equipped with a pair of safety goggles and as they danced MTFX fired 10 cannons containing a variety of paint colours at the dancers as required.

Since this event the system has evolved so that 18 paint jets could be built in to a portable booth and toured around a variety of night clubs throughout the UK!

The system was developed with safety as the primary factor, with each cannon being independently positioned and each with its own adjustable pressure to ensure that the cannons were able to fire accurately and at a pressure where the paint would hit the dancers effectively, but without excessive force.
