In our 25 years as an internationally renowned Special Effects Company, Bristol and The Southwest has always been an important hub for many of our projects. We are one of the biggest local providers of Snow, Pyrotechnics, Wind, Rain, Fire effects and everything in between.
We’ve been a part of many ingenious productions at The Bottle Yard such as Poldark and The White Princess including this Ingenious Snow Scene we created for Sky One’s Trollied.
MTFX was founded in 1993 as a special effects company that was able to provide spectacular and artistic, yet cost effective solutions for the TV/Film industry. MTFX special effects was founded by Mark Turner, an experienced pyrotechnician and special effects designer, who has been providing special effects to the industry since 1985.
MTFX has obtained BBC approved contractor status for pyrotechnic and physical effects and is a member of the CBI Explosives Industry Group, Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Explosives Engineers. Managing Director, Mark Turner, has also obtained a Diploma in Pyrotechnics and has successfully completed the Special Effects explosives safety course.
From snow in July to crashing waves on a windless day, MTFX has the experience and skill to guarantee the weather special effects. And from a car explosion to a train crash, we’ve provided audiences with numerous ‘how did they do that?’ experiences.
